Moments in the Meadow--VBS BLESSINGS (part 1)

WOW! WOW! WOW!

God is so good--no! Actually, HE'S GREAT!

Another busy, crazy week of vacation Bible school is behind us and I am tired! (or tard as we say here in good ole rural NC). An average of 130 eager to learn children in attendance each night. Honestly, one of the best VBS's I've had the privilege of being a part of. (check out our link to Monticello Baptist Church and learn more about this terrific, loving place)

Psalm 139:23-24

Search me, O God,

and know my heart:

try me, and know my thoughts:

And see if there be any wicked way in me,

and lead me in the way everlasting.

"Submerged" was the theme to our VBS. Each evening, eager attendees learned of people who wanted to get closer to Jesus and grow deeper in The Word. Zaccheus, Nicodemus, the blind man, and the woman at the well all had one common thread. They wanted to know and draw closer to God through Jesus.

Music was my niche for the week. What fun and joyful noises poured from the hearts and mouths of those young ones and I'm convinced, straight to the listening ear of God. Each group was to be prepared with at least one song for the Family Fun Night at the end of the week.

The youngest group (3 and 4 year olds and K-5), came marching in each night. So eager to please, however, just a smidgen tired. Zaccheus was their song for the week. As their little hands pumped up and down to show his desperate climb in the sycamore tree, and their little voices loudly rang with authority as they sang Jesus' direction to come down, we listeners were reminded that our loving God desires a relationship with us. As the days progressed, the realization of Jesus' desire for each of them to know Him, permeated each little heart as they sang those truthful words.
