Moments in the Meadow--lunch break

Create in me a clean heart, O God

And renew a right spirit within me.

Psalm 51:10

Whew!! I'm so glad it's time for lunch!

I'M HUNGRY!

God tells us that His Word is food for our hungry souls. He's prepared a delightful lunch that will strengthen us in the remainder of this most arduous task.

As we step on to the screened in porch, the sun gently wraps its beams around us. A yellow gingham table cloth drapes across the farmhouse table that welcomes us. White daisy shaped luncheon plates are filled with delectable croissants stuffed with chicken salad, 2 cubes of cheddar cheese and a small bunch of red, seedless grapes. Pure, sparkling spring water glistens in the water glass and my body is about as thirsty as my spirit.

As we open the Precious Word of God, it's peace, comfort and instruction wrap around us. The vitamins and protein our soul needs are found in the script of this most Holy Word. Breathed from our Father as a source of encouragement, direction and conviction, it contains every answer to any question.

What are some verses to help us when we're tempted to allow dirt to stay behind the refrigerator? How do we resist temptation? What are Scripture references to "clean" the grimy areas? I'm so glad you asked.....

*****Ephesians 6:13-20 gives us clear and specific instruction as to how to stand against powers and principalities

*****I Corinthians 10:13 reminds us that even though temptation is a part of life, God always provides a way out. Remember, He leads us beside still water (Psalm 23:2b)

*****Luke 22:40--Jesus, Himself instructed the disciples to pray they wouldn't give in to temptation. God knows my weaknesses. Where I'm most likely to give in. I find myself praying and asking Him to keep me from those places where I'm most likely to stumble.

*****Matthew 26:41--the first words in this verse are "watch" and "pray". Be aware that temptations will come. By watching and praying, you will strengthen your spirit.

*****Psalm 23--read and memorize the whole chapter. It is so full of God's goodness.

These are just a few verses to get you started. Glean from them the nutrients needed to keep the dirt from behind your fridge.

NOW......What's for dessert?????

I leave you with this sweet double decker, chocolate filled lava cake thought...

When you accepted Christ as your Savior, His Blood covers every sin and stain. You're white as snow. Evil wants to remind you of the dirt and will always try to remind you of the stain. God doesn't even remember it once it's been confessed.

HALLELUJAH!!!!

WE CAN SHOUT RIGHT THERE!!!

AMEN!!

WOOHOO!!

YES!!!

JOYFULLY,

Dianne
