Moments in the Meadow

YIPPEEE!!!

WOOHOO!!!!!

OHHHHHH YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These excited cries from community parents of school aged children bring a remembering smile and a bubbling chuckle to this ole gal. It's that time of year. Fall starts knocking on summer's door. Store displays turn to #2 leaded pencils, college or regular lined notebook paper, brightly colored composition books and a plethora of colored and themed bookbags to suit any taste.

My educator filled family and circle of friends kiss their sweet summer good-bye as they embark on another year fulfilling the calling of their heart. I am amazed at the amount of personal time and resources these special people use in preparation for their ministry. Shopping carts begin to have a few less groceries and will be dotted with crates and other organizational goodies to brighten the classroom. Bulletin board border flaps over the side of the cart waving to each school aged child that walks by. Ohhhhh my! What memories bubble up as a result of my observations.

What does all this have to do with us here at The Daisy Pot?

I'm glad you asked. Even though I am not a teacher in a school setting, teaching is one of my gifts and I always feel so honored and privileged in educating others in God's Word, my experiences in life, or in dental education. (I have been a dental assistant for 30+ years).

As the whole world around us (a little bit of an exaggeration, but that's how it feels), begins to prepare for another year of education, it brings to mind a few basic principles of education and how they parallel to our Christian walk. Let's explore and learn over the next few Moments in the Meadow, how readin', 'rightin', and 'rithmetic are truly core values in learning and living. I am as excited as a new teacher embarking on a maiden voyage of teaching each time I have been privileged to share this sweet reminder from our Lord.

Grab your journal. The one with "DREAM BIG" emblazoned on the cover. We're going to school. The School of Life where the tests are hard, however, the victories are sweeter. Find your seat in the front of the class.(my ADD demands I be at the front) Fill that cup with peppermint tea and let's get going. School is in session. The Holy Spirit has some wonderful, interesting instruction. You're going to love His class. He is a great Teacher.

2 Timothy 2:15

Study to shew thyself approved unto God,

a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,

rightly dividing the word of truth.

Joyfully,

Dianne
